Most times when you watch a movie or flip through a magazine you usually see the same thing, a Caucasian woman that is tall with the perfect hair and the perfect body. The thing magazines and movies don't tell you is that most people in the world don't look like that, we are usually too curvy, too flat, or too short compared to the models. I'm here to tell you that skin color, height and weight are not the things that make us beautiful; it's your character that speaks.
Character is most commonly defined as the things we do when no one is looking and that definition is right on. You could be the most stunning girl to ever walk the planet but if you treat everyone around you like trash except for the filthy rich than you might as well be the ugliest thing most people have ever seen. Looks can distract people for awhile but unless you plan on moving every few months people are going to start catching on. But, if you are proud of how you look and you treat people with respect people are going to want to be around you.
Also, if you are tired of an aspect of your appearance don't run out and get cosmetic or weight loss surgery which makes the variety that our country is rich with will diminish very quickly. If you don't like how your hair looks anymore you can try a different shade or a different cut. I donated 12" of my hair to Locks of Love and I can't believe that I hadn't tried the pixie cut sooner. Most people at my school didn't even recognize me which was kind of fun. You could try wearing different jewelry, a new shirt, or try some new makeup as long as it still hold true to who you are. Never change who you are.

New Year's Resolutions
Well 2012 is only a few hours away so I thought I would write about New Year's Resolutions. Resolutions can be great ways to stay healthy or to get healthy, but they can also be very dangerous.
Here is a poplar resolution among teenage girls that can be good or bad depending on the person: dropping a dress size before prom.
This resolution can be very good for a girl because it can be a great motivator to get into shape, like the girls I have seen working out in my school's weight room after school. But it could also be very dangerous for girls because they could crash diet or contract another very serious eating disorder to get the body they want.
My advice is to cut back on junk food but to let yourself indulge every now and then. Along with eating right lift weights and go running, there are lots of good workout plans online if you look hard enough. If you are having problems getting motivated, challenge a friend of yours with the same resolution to see who can lose the most weight before prom.
But if you do challenge your friend make sure you set these simple ground rules: you have to lose the weight healthily which means eating healthier food and working out. No scary diets that only let you eat one baby carrot a day or anything like that!! If you follow these safe rules you should be able to find that perfect dress in a smaller size in no time!!

The Truth To Wisdom Teeth Removal
You always hear from your friends, "getting your wisdom teeth out is so painful!" But it actually isn't all that bad. I had mine out yesterday and the worst part about it was waking up afterwards and finding out my face was numb. The day after isn't to great because your mouth is sore but on the bright side you get to eat tons of ice cream!
If you are getting your wisdom teeth out in the near future or your just worried about it in general you can feel free to post a question or concern for me to answer. But remember, everyone exaggerates.

Changing for a Guy
Does he love me? Or love me not? We all pulled the petals of a flower and said those words in our childhood at least once. Now we think it when we walk by him in the hall, see his newest status updates, and late at night when we're falling asleep. We may be falling head-over-heels but we shouldn't change who we are just to try to get him to think the same things.
The first things we seem to always change for a guy is how we dress and how we put our makeup on. When you look in the mirror next time don't think, "Will he like this?" and instead think, "If he doesn't like this then there is something wrong with him!" If the guy doesn't already think you're beautiful, then he isn't worth your time.
The next thing we change is our attitude; becoming super girly or the biggest butthead in school. You'll either start giggling at everything he says (which gets REALLY annoying) or you'll start treating people like dirt just so he notices you. If he already like you, then the new you is going to be a MAJOR turnoff.
So, girls, here is the bottom line, either he does like you or he doesn't. If he doesn't, stop trying to change and start looking for a guy that is really worth your while.

Makeup tips
I know the most recurring thought in a teenage girl's mind is how does her makeup look? Is it running? Does it make her look like a Barbie doll, and so on. Here are my tips on how to make sure you always look your best.
1: Pick the right colors: Neon colors do not look good on anyone no matter who you are. If you want to use colors like blue or orange use light, pale shades so that it looks natural. If people are turning their heads to look at how bright your makeup is, it's not a good sign.
2: Don't use too much: Piling on eye shadow, mascara, or lipstick isn't helping you at all. Putting on too much makes you look like a clown or sometimes for sale. Highlighting your natural beauty and trying to look like circus folk is definitely not the same thing.
There are two most basic but important rules to applying your makeup: don't change your looks for a guy and remember to feel comfortable in your own skin.

What is Marijuana?
Marijuana is a very powerful drug that can literally mess with your head. Marijuana is a mixture of the hemp plant's dried stems, leaves, seeds, and flowers. There are around 400 different chemicals in this mix and some cause cancer. More teens get addicted to marujuana than any of the other illegal drugs combined and they also have a greater of developing depression in adulthood.
If that isn't enough to change your mind about experimenting with marijuana then read this, people who are addicted to marijuana are more likely to develop schizopherina and/or paranoia. Remember, there are many names for marijuana including grass, weed, pot, dope, and Mary Jane. Even with all these names you must remember that it is all the same drug and it will hurt you mentally and physically starting from your first joint.

Sleep Depervation
Now that school has started up again and the homework is being piled on I know it's hard to find the time for the one thing our bodies need the most, sleep. When we are sleeping our body is restoring itself from the day before and preparing itself for the day ahead. Our minds are taking this period to calm down and sort things out. Without sleep our lives turn into utter chaos: your attention span shortens, your temper is much shorter, you lose interest in stuff you love, and your grades will go downhill. It doesn't help your apperance any either, (bags under you eyes). To stay feeling and looking healthy do yourself a favor and get some sleep!
