Sleep Depervation

Now that school has started up again and the homework is being piled on I know it's hard to find the time for the one thing our bodies need the most, sleep. When we are sleeping our body is restoring itself from the day before and preparing itself for the day ahead. Our minds are taking this period to calm down and sort things out. Without sleep our lives turn into utter chaos: your attention span shortens, your temper is much shorter, you lose interest in stuff you love, and your grades will go downhill. It doesn't help your apperance any either, (bags under you eyes). To stay feeling and looking healthy do yourself a favor and get some sleep!

Seat Belts

Today I'm going to give you a brief talk about seat belts. I know most people think they're dumb and useless. But I'm here to tell you otherwise. People who are in accidents without their seat belts on are more likely to be injured then someone who has theirs on. I rolled my pickup earlier today with my seat belt on and walked away from it. If I didn't have it on I might not have been so lucky.

Seat Bealts: They will save your life.

Tanning Dangers

I know that summer time is coming soon and lots of you girls are thinking about how pale winter has left their skin. But here's my advice for the day, "don't use tanning beds!" First off, they're extremely expensive; it would take more than your summer job to pay for just one month. Second, lying in the sun is safer than a tanning bed because their UV rays are way more extreme. Third, they make acne and bacne worse because they increase inflammation. Fourth and prehaps the most important, tanning beds are PROVEN to cause cancer. So if you want a tan do it the old fashioned way, the natural way.

Dating the Bad Boys

I know what most of us think of dating bad boys: danger, excitment, and adventure. But really it's fights, cheating, and broken hearts. Boys who live wild aren't faithful, have anger issues, and need to be in control. They won't respect you, they just want someone and they can have several girls at once. Just be wise, date someone who will care for YOU!!

Catching an Eating Disorder

I know what you’re thinking, “There’s no way to catch an eating disorder.” But the truth is that if you hangout with someone who has an eating disorder they can give it to you. If they don’t eat certain foods it will make you feel bad about eating it in front of them, if they only eat a certain amount of calories you could start too. You may still think it can’t happen to you but here’s how your judgment could be clouded: the thought of being judged. Not wanting to be thought badly of by your peers can lead to being just like them. Just remember: being yourself is all that matters and if someone doesn’t like it, well then it’s their fault for not seeing your beauty.

Peer Pressure

As a lot of you know the crime rate in the country is has been going up, but here’s something you may not know: the juvenile crime rate in the country has been going up dramatically. There are many reasons for this but there is one major one that I’m going to talk about: Peer Pressure.
Peer Pressure is when you don’t want to do something but others will make you, either by words or by force. Peer pressure with words is when people threaten to make up stories about you or tell your whole school you’re a chicken. Peer pressure by force is when they hit or shove you and threaten to do worse.
A lot people who suffer peer pressure will do what they’re told because they don’t want the stories to come out or don’t want to get hurt. But the truth is there is a way out, telling an adult even a teacher could get it stopped. If that doesn’t work, going to the police is the smartest thing to do. Another tip is to travel in numbers, they less likely to beat you up if you are with people. Remember, even though more kids are getting into trouble, you don’t have to be forced into it.
