Here is a horrible method of weight loss, what is it? It’s tobacco. Tobacco is a drug known far and wide, you’re probably asking yourself why girls would use tobacco and the answer can be plain and simple, weight loss. There is an ingredient in tobacco (that I do not know the name of) that can make you lose weight but there can be some deadly costs.
Those costs are, your appearance will be altered with things like hair loss, yellow fingernails, and wrinkly skin and your lungs will be filled with tar which makes almost impossible to breath, cancer, or emphysema, even death. If any of things happen to you, you’ll have pretty much have no chance of changing them back. Tobacco increases your chance of cancer in many places such as breasts, lungs, mouth, tongue, and in the bones. Cancer has no cure yet so if you get it you have to start treatment to slow the process if you can go 5 years without cancer cells showing up in your bloodstream you are considered cancer free. So the next you are in the grocery store or in a gas station and you walk by the cigarettes or chew remember that tobacco is a killer and you want to live to see 2009!

Crash Dieting
Do you know what always used to be talked about until pregnant stars stole the spotlight? Crash dieting. Crash dieting is driving teenage to starve themselves to lose weight.
Sometimes young girls think that a diet where you eat nothing, or very little, is fine because they just want the bodies some celebrities have. Then they end up in the hospital getting food from a tube, and they wonder why they lost so much weight and still look nothing like the pictures of stars. Here is the reason why; it’s called airbrushing.
Airbrushing is the tampering of people’s pictures so that a person looks taller and skinnier than they really are. The media is responsible for this and sometimes I wonder if the people who work for big-time magazines that airbrush the pictures realize the could be responsible for the next teenage girl that ends up in the ER. So next time you look at a magazine and see a picture of a beautiful celeb on the cover and you start to wish that you looked exactly like her, remember that we are all different and that you are beautiful just the way you are.

Teenage Pregnancy
The August 2008 edition of the magazine Cosmogirl has an article called “Pregnant on Purpose” written by Nancy Redd, and it has made me very worried. It says that 80% of teenage mothers are single parents and that only 1.5% of teen moms earn their college degree before they turn 30 years old.
But why are so many teen girls getting pregnant before they’re ready to support their babies? The answer could be very simple, Hollywood. More and more people are starting to think that teenage girls are copying what their favorite celebrities are doing, like getting pregnant at a very young age, such as Jamie Lynn Spears. They think acting like their favorite celebrities makes them cooler, but it is most likely ruining the chance to live the life and had all planned out for themselves.
But there could be another reason that girls are going out and becoming early mothers, boys. Some girls could be getting pregnant with their boyfriend so that he won’t dump them; it’s pretty much trying to hold the guy against his own will and that doesn’t always work. Sometimes the guy will get so scared that he will walk out or maybe he will propose and then you learn he’s not your type but since he’s the dad you feel forced to marry him.
I feel that some celebrities are trying to seem cool by having lots of kids, but the sad thing is I don’t think they know how much pressure the media is putting on girls. I think the media is glamorizing pregnancies so much that now girls need to get a reality check and realize that they aren’t millionaires with lots of nannies and designer maternity clothes and figure out the easy way like asking a parent that child birth is really hard. I think we should stop getting completely absorbed in stars’ lives because even though they make it seem so glamorous, usually it isn’t that way for us.
